PIERRE, SD - Many of South Dakota’s visitor industry businesses and organizations are receiving recognition from the Department of Tourism for delivering outstanding customer service.
The South Dakota Department of Tourism is awarding 151 South Dakota businesses and organizations in 43 communities with the Great Service Star. The Great Service Star program recognizes businesses that develop and complete hospitality training programs for their staff, recognize and reward employees for providing great service, and find unique ways to show customer appreciation.
“South Dakota’s reputation for exceptional hospitality wouldn’t be possible without these businesses in the visitor industry,” said Jim Hagen, secretary of the South Dakota Department of Tourism.
Hagen said the Great Service Star award and logo are often used by recipients to help market their businesses and demonstrate their continued commitment to customer service.
