PIERRE, S.D. – Experience holiday traditions at an authentic 1864 military outpost. The Fort Sisseton Frontier Christmas is being held Dec. 13-14 in Fort Sisseton State Park from 12 – 4 p.m.
“A Frontier Christmas offers visitors the chance to experience history, culture and the holiday season all at once,” said Katie Bogue, manager, Fort Sisseton Historic State Park. “The park will be offering horse drawn sleigh rides, craft making, great music and holiday cheer.”
In addition, A Frontier Christmas will feature demonstrations on the arts of bread baking, butter churning, carpentry, and blacksmithing. A Tree Candle Lighting will take place at 3:45 p.m. and the gift shop will be open from 12 – 4 p.m. each afternoon.
