PIERRE, S.D. – Watch the largest fireworks display in central South Dakota light up the sky over the Missouri River in Chamberlain, July 4.
"This is something that we love to do for the community every year," said April Reis, executive director of the Chamberlain-Oacoma Chamber of Commerce. "People drive from all over to see our display."
The fireworks will be shot off at dusk over the Missouri River. Onlookers can tune into 94.5 FM during the display to hear patriotic music timed to the fireworks.
"Before the fireworks display, stop in Chamberlain-Oacoma and see what we have to offer for the entire family," said Reis. "Our attractions are rich with the history and culture of South Dakota."
Attractions around Chamberlain include the South Dakota Hall of Fame and the Akta Lakota Museum and Cultural Center. The Missouri River provides opportunities for boating and fishing and there are several campsites that can be reserved.
