Classic Drama, To Kill A Mockingbird, opens at the Black Hills Playhouse, Friday, June 12

06/08/2015

Custer State Park, SD - Running Friday, June 12 through Sunday, June 28, the Black Hills Playhouse presents the classic drama To Kill A Mockingbird.

Summary
Scout, a young girl in a quiet southern town, is about to experience dramatic events that will affect the rest of her life. The play centers on the feisty, fearless Scout, race relations in the South and the relationship of Scout's father, Atticus, with his daughter. A beautiful play with a meaningful and timeless message.

Harper Lee's classic novel, set in Alabama during the Depression, when poverty and racism walked hand in hand, is one of the great stories about growing up. For many of us, the tale of Scout's journey from innocence to experience as her lawyer father defends a black man accused of raping a white woman, is part of our growing up, too.

Rated: PG-13 for thematic material, some language, and mild references to rape.
