City-Wide Dining, Flair Bartenders, Concerts and the Ultimate Tasting "Grand" Finale
Deadwood, S.D. (3/1/16) – Deadwood's Forks, Corks & Kegs Food & Wine Festival, the ultimate three-day event for lovers of fine food and drink, is set for April 8-9.
The event begins at Deadwood Mountain Grand, Friday, April 8 at 7 p.m. with the Forks, Corks, and Kegs kickoff party, which features flair bartending demonstrations, beer and wine samples and a concert by the Abbey Road Band. Abbey Road Band, based in Rapid City, S.D., is best known for their "Tribute to the Beatles Show" covering over 60 of the legendary band's songs.
After enjoying the sites and sounds at the Deadwood Mountain Grand, Festival Pass holders can explore Deadwood's culinary delights by stopping at various locations around town for the Appetizer Crawl from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. The Crawl showcases local chefs' bite-sized creations, each paired with a wine or brew, in their respective restaurants.
On Saturday morning, April 9, Deadwood Station Bunkhouse and Gambling Hall jumpstarts the day with a Coffee Tasting and Seminar from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Learn from an expert about roasting techniques, bean varieties and how variations change the flavor profile of your favorite morning beverage.
Saturday continues at several different locations throughout the afternoon during the Deadwood Dine Around from 11 a.m. - 3 p.m. Chefs around Deadwood will prepare samples of their favorite meals paired with wine, beer and cocktails. While enjoying Deadwood's delicacies stop into the Deadwood Mountain Grand and witness the South Dakota Bartending Championships from noon to 3 p.m. in Santana's.
Catch your breath and loosen your belt because only an hour later, starting at 4 p.m. on Saturday evening, the Deadwood Mountain Grand Event Center hosts the Grand Tasting. The Grand Tasting will feature dozens of top choices from participating wineries, breweries and distilleries, all in one location. Flair bartenders will provide ambiance, entertainment and instruction during the event.
Following the Grand Tasting, guests can put the finishing touches on their evening. At 6 p.m. the Deadwood Tobacco Co. will host a Cigar Tasting for guests to sample one of their specialities.

The $45 Festival Pass includes admission to all of the Friday and Saturday events, as well as your choice of commemorative wine or beer glass and free trolley rides around Deadwood. Festival Pass holders must stop by the Deadwood Mountain Grand to pick up their Festival lanyard and official event guide during registration hours. Registration will be open on April 8 from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. and April 9 from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m.

April 8th (Friday)
2 p.m. - 8 p.m. – Event Registration – Pickup your Festival Pass lanyard (your VIP pass to all the weekend's events and trolley transportation) event guide and welcome packet at the registration table in the main lobby of the Deadwood Mountain Grand.
7 p.m. – Kick-off Celebration – The Deadwood Mountain Grand hosts an event kickoff party in Santana's Bar & Lounge. The celebration includes: flair bartending demonstrations, live entertainment by the Abbey Road Band, beer & wine samples and light hors d'oeuvres.
8 p.m. - 10 p.m. - Appetizer Crawl - After the Kick-off Celebration, festival participants are given the opportunity to sample bite-sized masterpieces, each paired with a wine or beer sample, created by local chefs. Drop by their respective restaurants located throughout town during the Deadwood Appetizer Crawl. A list of participating restaurants will be provided at registration.

11 a.m. - 4 p.m. - Deadwood Dine Around - Stop at many Deadwood locations throughout the afternoon for the Deadwood Dine Around. Local chefs prepare samples of their favorite meals paired with wine, beer and speciality cocktails. A list of participating restaurants will be provided at registration.
11 a.m. - 3 p.m. - South Dakota Bartending Championships - While enjoying the Deadwood Dine Around, be stop by Santana's at Deadwood Mountain Grand and watch South Dakota's top bartenders compete for the championship title. 4 p.m. - 6 p.m. - Grand Tasting - On Saturday evening, the Deadwood Mountain Grand Event Center will host A Grand Tasting. Festival pass holders pick up their 2016 commemorative glassware upon entering, which is the perfect accessory for sampling dozens of top choices from participating wineries, breweries and speciality food vendors, all in one location. Light hors d'oeuvres will be provided. The event features demonstrations by flair bartenders.
6 p.m. - Cigar Tasting - If you're a cigar lover, you won't want to miss this one. The Deadwood Tobacco Co. hosts a sampling of their Sweet Jane Limited Edition Cigars, by Drew Estate, made exclusively for the Deadwood Tobacco Co.
