PIERRE, S.D – This Saturday, Aug. 15, 2015, the Department of Tourism’s Rose Parade® float will make its initial debut on the streets of Pasadena, Calif. Float builder, Phoenix Decorating Company, will be conducting a first test-run of the float to see how it performs on the street.

PIERRE, S.D. – The U.S. Travel Association has awarded the South Dakota Department of Tourism a Mercury Award for Best Print Advertising Piece. The winning piece was a vintage-style newspaper insert that hearkened back to the golden era of travel.
South Dakota has been the subject of severe weather in recent days, including some flooding which has resulted in a few highway closures in the southeastern part of the state, including a section of Interstate 29.
PIERRE, S.D. – This spring, nearly 2,300 visitor industry professionals from across South Dakota attended customer service training programs hosted in 16 different communities.
