PIERRE, S.D. – Staff from the Department of Tourism plan to visit communities across the state this summer. The first scheduled stops on their tour are Aberdeen on Thursday, June 14, and Belle Fourche on Tuesday, June 19.
“My staff and I make it a priority to visit as many communities as we can throughout the year in order to build relationships and educate ourselves on tourism opportunities across the state,” said Jim Hagen, Secretary of the Department of Tourism.
The goals of the community visits are to meet key tourism stakeholders and discuss the tourism assets each community holds.
“Our state has much to offer visitors, and these community visits are much like ‘continuing education’ for Tourism staff,” continued Hagen. “It’s imperative that we visit our friends in the industry and learn about their offerings first-hand.”
If you would like to request a visit to your community, please call 605-773-3301 and speak to Harla Jessop. Or you may email Harla at firstname.lastname@example.org.
