PIERRE, S.D. – The Hospitality Sales & Marketing Association International (HSMAI) has recognized the work of the South Dakota Department of Tourism and one of their agencies of record, MMGY Global, with three Adrian Awards for advertising, digital marketing and public relations excellence in the 57th annual awards competition.
As the largest and most prestigious travel marketing competition globally, the contest attracted more than 1,200 entries from around the world with entries judged by top executives from all sectors of the industry. On Feb. 24, HSMAI paid tribute to the winners during the annual HSMAI Adrian Awards Gala. The black-tie affair was attended by more than 1,000 hospitality, travel and tourism marketing executives at the New York Marriott Marquis.
Awards received were in the following categories:
Moment in Nature – CBS Sunday Morning News (public relations)
Rushmore Mascots “Their American Journey” bus tour (marketing)
Rushmore Mascots “Their American Journey” bus tour social contest/sweepstakes (digital marketing)
“We couldn’t be happier with the recognition we’ve received for these efforts,” said Jim Hagen, Secretary of the Department of Tourism. “Our team works very hard in conjunction with both of our marketing agencies, and to be rewarded in this way solidifies that what we’re doing is innovative and effective.”
