South Dakota has been the subject of severe weather in recent days, including some flooding which has resulted in a few highway closures in the southeastern part of the state, including a section of Interstate 29. As you’re traveling to South Dakota, you may have to take some detours; however, these highway closures will not prevent you from getting to your destination. Detour maps for the I-29 closure are available at http://disasterrecovery.sd.gov/flood_info_pubs.aspx. You can also visit www.safetravelusa.com/sd or call 511 to check the latest road conditions. At this time, Interstate 90 going east and west through South Dakota is not affected. If you have any questions as you’re preparing to travel, we encourage you to call ahead to your destination for any new updates.
