St. Paddy's Weekend Expected To Draw Record Breaking Crowds
Leprechaun Olympics, Pub Crawl, Parade to be part of the festivities - March 18 & 19
Deadwood, S.D. (3/3/2016) – Historic Deadwood gets it's green on for the annual St. Patrick's Day Weekend, March 18 & 19.
Deadwood's St. Paddy's celebration will kick off Friday, March 18, with the third annual Leprechaun Olympics. Irish-themed games are held at different locations on Deadwood's Main Street. Registration for the Olympics will be from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. at Oyster Bay, with the games running from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Score cards must be returned to Oyster Bay by 9 p.m., and winners - including the last place finisher - will receive prizes.
On Saturday, March 19, the annual St. Patrick's Day Pub Crawl - which drew more than 2,000 people in 2015 - takes place. Registration for the pub crawl is from 10:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Historic Franklin Hotel, with the crawl beginning at 2:30 p.m to 6:30 p.m.
The St. Paddy's Parade will be at high noon on Saturday, March 19. Pub crawl winners will be announced at 7 p.m. at the start of the St. Paddy's Day party at the Historic Franklin Hotel.
Open containers will be allowed in much of downtown from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and from noon to 10 p.m. Saturday. Drinks must be in official Deadwood Chamber cups.

Deadwood's concert venue, Deadwood Mountain Grand, announced they would host 'Shinedown' on Friday, the 18th and it quickly sold out. Event organizers expect those concert goers will help push numbers well past previous records and advise reserving a hotel room well in advance.
