Nestled among eight connecting glacial lakes northwest of Brookings, Oakwood Lakes State Park provides a never-ending variety of activities throughout the year, from hiking and swimming, to ice fishing and cross-country skiing. Shaded campgrounds and picnic areas complement the park's excellent swimming and boating facilities. The park has a horse camp and a disc golf course, as well as equipment checkouts and rentals for games, canoes, kayaks, fishing poles and snowshoes.
Located on the west side of the Missouri River in Oacoma, the Oasis Campground features full hook-ups, pull-through sites, cabins and a tenting area. It offers all amenities needed to make your camping experience a success. Our shower house offers the finest facilities, including large, spacious restrooms and showers. Complete laundry facilities and recreation room are also available, as well as cable TV in the RV sites. Swim in our heated swimming pool and get to know the friendly staff when you grab a treat from the Office! There is also a large play area with playground for the kids. The Occidental General Store, located in Isabel in northcentral South Dakota, offers a variety of groceries, fresh produce, meats, wine, spirits, and general provisions. This steakhouse in uptown Watertown serves up steaks, fresh fish and premium seafood, and is open for lunch or dinner. A specialty is their hot sirloin chislic, which is served as an appetizer with their 1919 BBQ sauce or on a salad. They are open 11 a.m.-2 p.m., for lunch, and 4-10 p.m., for dinner, Tuesday through Saturday.

The Oglala Lakota Artspace (OLA) is an arts facility on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation in Kyle in southwestern South Dakota. The Native-run program is administered by Oglala Lakota Artspace LLC, a partnership between Artspace, Lakota Funds, and First Peoples Fund. The facility provides a collaborative and intergenerational environment for artists to learn, share, and grow their businesses. Oglala Lakota Artspace LLC partners with local artists and Rolling Rez Arts to offer artistic, business, and financial services to Native artists across the Pine Ridge Reservation. It includes artist studios, a recording studio, classroom space, outdoor market space, community gathering space and a performance space. Make time for history at the Old Courthouse Museum in downtown Sioux Falls. This beautifully-restored 1800s quartzite building has three floors of regional history exhibits. The Museum Store includes unique and affordable Dakota-made gifts for the whole family. See our website or Facebook page for current exhibits and programs. The Old Courthouse Museum is a Siouxland Heritage Museum (along with the Pettigrew Home and Museum). We are open seven days a week and our hours are 8 a.m.-5 p.m., Monday through Wednesday and Friday; 8 a.m.-9 p.m., Thursday; 9 a.m.-5 p.m., Saturday; and 12-5 p.m., Sunday. We are closed on major holidays. Admission is free.
Fort Meade was a military post from 1878 until 1944. Originally established to protect miners and settlers traveling in the area, it played a major role in maintaining peace on the western Dakota frontier. Today, the Old Fort Meade Museum, on the grounds of the Veterans Administration Hospital just east of Sturgis, is located in the former commanding officer's headquarters and offers an in-depth history of Fort Meade. The museum is open 10 a.m.-5 p.m., Monday through Saturday, mid-May to the end of September.
The Old Lumber Company is located in downtown Vermillion. It features traditional grill and bar fare, including hamburgers, chicken wings, pizza, sandwiches, salads and wraps. Beverages range from Import and Domestic Tap Beer to well drinks and wine, as well as non-alcoholic options. Hours of operation are 11 a.m.-2 a.m., seven days a week.
