See the following questions and answers for more information about the South Dakota Passports:
How do people get their prizes?
Once visitors have checked into the required number of locations resulting in point accumulation, participants will redeem their points for the desired prize from within the passport application. The Department will then send prize recipients the designated prize(s) by mail.
Is there a separate sign up for each passport, or are the passports interconnected?
Each passport is independent, so participants need to sign up for each pass they wish to use. However, once you’ve signed up for multiple passports, they can all be accessed through the same home screen application. Point accumulation is collective between all passports to redeem for all Travel South Dakota Rewards.
Are visitors limited to participating in only one passport?
No. There is no limited to the number of passports each visitors may use. Passports are continuously being updated and additional passports are in the works. Visitors are encouraged to sign up for any and all passports.
Who do I contact if I'm having trouble with my passport?

How do I add my passport to my mobile device's home screen?
For all mobile devices, begin by opening your passport via the link from your confirmation email or text, following the prompt to add passport to mobile device.
iPhone or iPad
Launch Safari app. (This will not work with the Chrome app.)
Underneath the ‘Menu’ at the bottom of your pass, you should see an up arrow with a box around it (). Click on that.
You will need to look for ‘Add to Home Screen’. Depending on the version of iOS you have, you will either find it by scrolling down to the list of items, or scroll right to where the icons are (Airdrop, Messages, etc).
Once you click ‘Add to Home Screen’, follow the prompts and you’ll get an icon on your phone’s home page. The South Dakota Passport icon should now be listed with your other apps.
Android - Chrome
Open Chrome’s Settings menu by tapping the three vertical dots found in the top-right corner.
Select the “Add To Home Screen” or “Install App” option (this will depend on your version of Chrome).
A new screen that will allow you to place the icon automatically or choose where to place it will appear. On this ‘Add To Home Screen’ screen, you’ll see a preview of the shortcut’s icon. Tap the ‘Add Automatically’ button to place the new icon on your Android device’s home screen, wherever space is available.
Android - Firefox
Touch and hold the website’s URL in the address bar until a pop-up menu appears. Select the ‘Add Page Shortcut’ option.
A new window will open, and you’ll see a preview of the 1×1 icon. Press the ‘Add Automatically’ button to add the icon on your device’s home screen. To configure the exact location as to where the shortcut is placed, touch and hold the icon and drag it to your desired location.
How do I add my passport to my desktop?
Use your preferred browser to go to TravelSouthDakota.com/passports. (If you have not yet signed up for a passport, do so now.)
Make sure the browser is not full screen. (You’ll want to be able to see your desktop during this process.)
Once signed up, highlight, click, and drag the particular URL to your desktop and release. (You will see the outline of the object appear as you drag.) A shortcut to the site will appear with the website’s title as the name. Repeat for other passports.
Happy exploring!
