Sanford Lab Neutrino Day

More than 50 years ago, Dr. Ray Davis began building his Solar Neutrino Experiment nearly a mile underground at Homestake Mine in Lead. Join us as we celebrate this historic moment in history at Sanford Underground Research Facility’s free science festival and biggest event of the year, Neutrino Day. Join us for hoistroom and garden tours, science activities and exhibits for all ages, engaging talks about the research happening beneath your feet, a session with Science Steve and traditional Lakota Games. Events take place at the SURF Education & Outreach Building, the Sanford Lab Homestake Visitor Center, Historic Homestake Opera House and the Handley Recreation Center.
