The 2026 U.S. Capitol Christmas Tree is making a special Whistlestop Tour stop in Mitchell, and you’re invited to join the celebration! Stop by the World’s Only Corn Palace, 9-11 a.m., to get an up-close look at the Christmas Tree as it makes its journey to the U.S. Capitol in Washington, D.C. Enjoy live entertainment by the Dakota Wesleyan University, along with hot chocolate and cookies sponsored by County Fair Food Store. Plus, Cornelia, Smokey Bear, and Santa Claus will all be making special appearances. Bring the family, say hello, and capture some memorable holiday photos with these special guests.
