Čhatkú Arts Center
Chatkú Arts Center (formerly The Heritage Center at Mahpíya Lúta) began in 1969 as the Red Cloud Indian Art Show. Today, the Chatkú Arts Center has a gift shop featuring the art of more than 300 Native Artists, a renowned Native art collection containing nearly 13,000 pieces of Native American contemporary and historical Lakota art, a gallery hosting 2-3 exhibits a year, the annual Red Cloud Indian Art Show, and much more. It is located on the Mahpiya Luta (Red Cloud) campus, six miles north of Pine Ridge...a beautiful, one-hour drive southeast of Hot Springs. This fantastic display of culture and history is not to be missed! Admission and tours are free, but donations are appreciated. Hours of operation are 10 a.m.-5 p.m., Monday through Friday.
