The 30th anniversary of the conference will be held June 5-7, 2026, from 9 a.m.-8 p.m. at the Rainbow Room in Pickstown. The area is the homeland of Chief Golden Light Eagle, the land of Ihanktowan, and has one of the largest eagle populations in the lower 48-Turtle Island. The gathering features wisdom keepers and carriers of ancient teachings, code carriers, indigenous elders, energy workers, peace leaders, visionaries, UFO authors and photographers, a Sasquatch researcher, star knowledge experts, UFO and alien contactees who are direct portals to the star nations and many more honored presenters. Vendors will be offering handmade sacred drums, artwork, physical artifacts of divine intuition, tarot readings, sound healing and more. Tickets are available online and at the door. Kick off your summer with a weekend of family fun this June in Lake Andes. Fish Days hosts the DC Lynch Carnival all three days, as well as lawn mower races, dart tournament, parade, kids games, fish fry, street dance, motorcycle blessing and more. The Pickstown Museum invites you to join us for a day of history, community, and discovery as we celebrate 250 years of American heritage and the unique story of the Pickstown area. Throughout the event, you can explore the milestones that shaped our nation and the community of Pickstown, from the founding of the United States and the Lewis & Clark Expedition to the establishment of Old Fort Randall, the building of Pickstown and the Fort Randall Dam, and the creation of the Pickstown Museum. Whether you're a history enthusiast or simply looking for a meaningful community experience, this free event offers something for all ages. Come celebrate the stories that connect our past to our present, and help keep our history alive. Lunch will be available for purchase from local food trucks.

Uncovering Historic Pickstown

We welcome you to join us for this fun community event along the Missouri River in Pierre. The Oahe Days Music & Arts Festival takes place over a Friday and Saturday in June, usually the third weekend. There will be arts and crafts and other vendors, as well as a variety of food and drink along with lots of live music. Activities include carnival rides, inflatables and more. Oahe Days is fun for the whole family.

The community of Highmore holds Old Settlers' Days annually the third weekend in June. The community comes together each year to offer a variety of different events, including a parade, live music, road race/walk, car show, inflatables, bingo, food trucks and more. Our goal is to make Old Settlers' Weekend fun for the whole family.

Since 1945, traditions of the Old West come alive at the PRCA-sanctioned Sitting Bull Stampede Rodeo every July 2, 3 and 4, 7:30 p.m. nightly. Featured are top-name professional cowboys and cowgirls, top animals and top rodeo entertainment. In addition to the rodeo action, there is a carnival, two big main street parades and a huge fireworks display on the night of the 4th after the rodeo. The annual Sitting Bull Stampede in Mobridge is the major event of the year, with its parades, carnival and rodeos.

Every 4th of July, the central South Dakota community of Fort Pierre hosts two days of activities to celebrate our nation's independence. On July 3, there is a rodeo performance at 7 p.m. On July 4, there is a parade at 10 a.m., a second rodeo performance at 7 p.m., and a fireworks show following the rodeo. The annual Owakpamni Wacipi is a traditional powwow held in early July. It takes place at the powwow grounds at Greenwood (southwest of Wagner, near the Missouri River). A schedule can be found on Facebook. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own lawn chairs. 2026 marks the 23rd annual powwow.

Experience 4th of July fireworks along the Missouri River. Join us in Chamberlain for the annual Rock the Bluffs Fireworks show. The free display begins at dusk (approximately 10:20 p.m.) and lasts about an hour. The fireworks are shot off from the causeway, almost in the middle of the Missouri River (on the Interstate 90 business route), and can be seen from many areas around Chamberlain and Oacoma. During the day, Chamberlain-Oacoma's traditional 4th of July Celebration includes a Fun Run at 7:30 a.m. and parade on Main Street starting at 11 a.m. followed by lunch at the American Legion.
