Founded in 1919, the Sioux Falls Municipal Band has been a beloved part of the community for more than a century. With a rich tradition of live music and civic pride, we bring people together through the power of song. Each year, we perform for more than 17,000 enthusiastic concertgoers, sharing music in some of the most beautiful venues throughout Sioux Falls. From city parks to retirement communities and beyond, our performances create lasting memories for audiences of all ages. Sioux Falls Municipal Band Summer Concerts

The Deadwood Jam is a long-running, legendary live-music festival featuring artists and tunes from many genres – a little something for everyone. And it’s Deadwood’s last official outdoor event of the summer. Each year, the event brings a wide array of top musical talent to the Black Hills and Deadwood's Outlaw Square, from celebrated acts to newcomers, rising stars and local talent. For more than 30 years, Deadwood has hosted this fun festival of music each September. Admission is free.

Raise a stein and enjoy a wild twist on your classic Oktoberfest during an adults-only night at the Great Plains Zoo in Sioux Falls. This 21+ event will feature Bavarian-themed menu items will be available for purchase, such as Beer Cheese Loaded Fries, Brats, Bavarian Pretzels, and - of course - beer. Visit your favorite zoo animals, test your skills at the Hammer & Nails game, and enjoy a live performance by the Brass Holes. Event hours are 6-9 p.m. and tickets are available online.

Oktoberfest Adult Night

Join us as we celebrate Oktoberfest in the Wild West. Come to Historic Deadwood and enjoy live German music, a poker run, free food and dancing. Bring the whole family and join us for the now famous Wiener Dog Races and Beer Barrel Games. Activities start at noon on Friday and run until 10 p.m. on Saturday.

Join us in welcoming more than 20 top songwriters and artists to Deadwood to take part in the annual Wild West Songwriters Festival. This festival features informal performances at various locations around Deadwood, writers rounds, and Grand Jam sessions. Discover the moments that inspired your favorite hits and hear the songwriters themselves put their original spin on what came to be a radio smash.

Internationally acclaimed violinist Rachel Barton Pine will bring centuries of history to life in an unforgettable concert at 7 p.m. on Saturday, October 17. The performance will be held at Aalfs Auditorium on the University of South Dakota campus in Vermillion. It will feature the National Music Museum’s 1668 Jacob Stainer and 1693 ‘Harrison’ Stradivari violins—last played publicly decades ago. The audience will also hear the 2025 Harrison Strad 2.0—a meticulous replica that will be heard publicly for the very first time. Rachel Barton Pine is one of the most celebrated violinists of her generation. She has performed with the Philadelphia Orchestra, Royal Philharmonic, Chicago Symphony, and Vienna Symphony, among many others. More information and tickets are available via the NMM website.

Christmas at the Cathedral, the nationally-acclaimed Christmas celebration, will be performed six times at the Cathedral of St. Joseph in Sioux Falls. It features the Christmas at the Cathedral orchestra and choir, along with guest performers. See our website for more details, as well as the specific dates and times of our four evening performances and two afternoon performances. There is no better tradition within the Sioux Falls community and no better way to prepare for the Christmas season than by attending Christmas at the Cathedral. 2026 marks the 30th anniversary of the event.

MadTown Bike Jam is a high-energy gravel bike race and community celebration set in the heart of Madison. Riders from near and far take on scenic gravel routes that showcase the best of the region—open roads, rolling terrain, and true Midwest grit. But the ride is just the beginning. Bike Jam blends cycling, live music, food, drinks, and small-town hospitality into one unforgettable experience. Whether you’re racing, riding for fun, or cheering from the sidelines, MadTown Bike Jam is all about bringing people together to ride, remember, and rock. From start line to final song, it’s more than a race—it’s a jam.

Free concerts all weekend long are awesome, but that's not all! You can shop a unique vendor market, learn the ways of the Old West through demonstrations and reenactments, watch (or participate in) a classic car auction, and learn the tricks of gold panning and sluicing.
