Movie Theaters & Drive-Ins

The Pheasant Drive-In was built at it’s current location in northeastern Mobridge in 1960. Ron Maier, the current owner, has been running the Drive-In since 1976. Movies are shown May through September, with the schedule being posted on our website or Facebook page. Be sure to check out our concession stand for popcorn, soda, snow cones and candy, as well as hot dogs, nachos and homemade barbecues.

Aberdeen's Capitol Theatre is a 450-seat, renovated 1926 vaudeville/movie house on historic Main Street. Along with the Aberdeen Community Theater's live theater season between March and November, ACT’s Capitol Cinema programming features Hollywood films seven nights a week throughout the year and an art gallery in the main lobby. For more than 40 years, ACT and its Young People’s Theatre have been providing quality, award-winning productions for the Aberdeen area. In 1914, this 24,000-square-foot building was built by the Homestake Gold Mine for their workers and families. It was given to the City of Lead in 1972. Unfortunately, the theater was nearly destroyed by fire in 1984. Restoration work continues alongside performing arts events. Concerts, movies, theatre, dance and weddings are hosted year-round. Tours are available Tuesday-Saturday (12 p.m. and 2 p.m.) and run 30-45 minutes. Call or join us at the front courtyard theater entrance at tour time.

The Dells Theatre is a movie theater located in Dell Rapids, just north of Sioux Falls. It is a beautifully restored 1938 art deco theatre showing first-run movies at a bargain price. You can enjoy the show in modern comfort with digital projection and 7.1 stereo sound in classic cinema style. We are open every Friday through Monday for evening showings and we offer afternoon matinees every Saturday and Sunday. Showtimes will vary depending on the running time of the current movie.

The State Theatre was built in 1926 to showcase silent film and vaudeville performance. The majestic theatre dazzled the residents of Sioux Falls with its iconic marquee and sophisticated Beaux Arts-inspired design. This style of building became known nationally as the ‘movie palace’. Unfortunately, fewer and fewer of these palaces remain intact, leaving the few still standing quite valuable. After nearly 20 years of work to restore the State Theatre to its original 1926 splendor, it once again provides nightly entertainment for Downtown Sioux Falls, including new-release blockbuster movies and independent films. The Nunpa Theatre is a two-screen movie theater located in Kyle in the heart of the Pine Ridge Reservation. First-run movies are typically shown Friday through Monday, but check our website and Facebook for the current schedule, ticket prices and which movies are playing. Tickets can be purchased online or at the door. We love our customers, so feel free to stop by during normal business hours for our amazing popcorn and other concessions.

The historic 1929 Hot Springs Theatre is home to first-run movies and special events. First-run movies are shown at 7 p.m. on Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings and at 2 p.m. Sunday afternoons.
