Each year, Pioneer Park transforms into the state’s premier art festival — the Brookings Summer Arts Festival. This 50-year tradition showcases works by more than 200 artists in diverse art styles, as well as gourmet food booths, artisan craft & food vendors, live music and a kid’s area. Attend the Downtown at Sundown free summer concert series. Along with a stellar lineup covering a range of genres, this five-week series features local food & retail vendors, face painting, inflatables and games for the kids. Join in the kite-flying fun at the Brookings Kite Festival. Fly your own kite and watch impressive demonstrations at this two-day festival at the Fishback Soccer Complex. Each year, downtown Brookings comes alive with holiday spirit during the Festival of Lights. Watch community members and local organizations parade downtown on spectacular holiday floats. The festival also includes a children’s play, letters to Santa, historic trolley rides and a Festival of Trees.
