The annual Milk's Camp Community Traditional Wacipi is held the fourth weekend in July at the Joe Stars, Sr. Memorial Arena located 5.5 miles southwest of St. Charles. Other events include the Mud Races, Miss Milk's Camp Contest, Giveaways, Naming Ceremonies and more. See Facebook for more information and the latest updates.

Milk's Camp Community Wacipi

The Northern Fort Playhouse is a summer repertory stock company that delights regional audiences with performances in the historic south barracks building of Fort Sisseton Historic State Park, southwest of Lake City. Northern State University students lend their talents to every production. Two shows will be performed during the 2026 season: The 39 Steps and The World According to Snoopy. Performance dates are July 10-12, 17-19 and 24-25. All of our Friday evening performances feature a free will donation social hour. There are dinner theatre performances and Sunday luncheon performances. State park entrance license fee is covered by Northern Fort Playhouse. Bruce Honey Days is a family celebration and 2025 marks our 34th year. Friday activities include entertainment, a bean bag tournament and teen dance. Saturday hosts a parade, car show, music, burger feed, variety show and street dance, along with a co-ed volleyball tournament. Sunday has breakfast at the Legion, outdoor church service, more volleyball and the town vs. country softball game. Buzz into Bruce for a weekend of fun every last weekend in July.

Hot Like Mars is Chicago’s funkiest, most soulful rock band – a jam-funk quintet built on airtight grooves, fearless improvisation, and songs that stay with you long after the house lights come up. Fronted by vocalist/keyboardist Anthony Perry, and featuring guitarists Pat Walsh and Frankie Minella, bassist Lamontè Norwood, and drummer Wes Julien, the band has carved out a fast-rising lane of their own. Hot Like Mars hits the Levitt stage in Sioux Falls on July 24. This free concert is one of 50 being held at the state-of-the-art Levitt Shell in Falls Park West. During 2026, the free concerts run June 4 through September 12, usually on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights. Levitt at the Falls has open, raked-lawn seating (on a first-come, first-served basis). Blankets and lawn chairs are welcome. The lawn opens at 6:30 p.m. (food trucks/drink vendors also open) and music starts at 7 p.m.

A South Dakota tradition since 1971, the annual Laura Ingalls Wilder Pageant in De Smet is an outdoor theater experience. Join us as we follow Laura and her daughter, Rose Wilder Lane, as they craft Laura’s childhood memories of the founding of De Smet and homesteading with her family into the beloved Little House books. Our outdoor prairie stage over looks cottonwood trees planted by Charles and the Big Slough. Seating is provided, but lawn chairs are welcome (jackets and/or blankets are recommended). The gates open at 6 p.m. and the performance begins at 8 p.m. All seating is general admission. The show does not sell out and we do not turn guests away. Downtown Friday Nights offers live music, food, beer, crafts, and activities for kids. This annual downtown Spearfish block party has everything you need for a fun-filled evening with friends and family. Join us 6-9 p.m. every Friday, June 12 through August 22 (except for August 7). July 24: Dustin Evans performs.

Downtown Friday Nights #7

The Evening Lighting Ceremony at Mount Rushmore National Memorial is held beginning the Friday before Memorial Day through September 30 each year. From May through early August, the ceremony starts nightly at 9 p.m., and from early August through September 30, it starts nightly at 8 p.m. From October through May, there is no ceremony, but the sculpture is illuminated nightly at sunset. Mount Rushmore Evening Lighting Ceremony

Featuring some great musical talent from the Black Hills area and beyond, the Hot Springs Chamber of Commerce brings you the Rockin' Riverside Summer Concert Series. These free Saturday night concerts are held at Centennial Park. Concerts begin at 7 p.m. and will last roughly until 9 p.m. Bring your lawn chairs or blankets and plan to spend a fun evening listening to some great music. There are six concerts throughout the summer - 2026 dates are May 30, June 13, June 20, July 11, July 25 and August 8. See our website for more details, including the performers.

Rockin’ Riverside Summer Concert Series #5

Head to historic downtown Yankton for the annual Rock 'n Rumble Motorcycle Rally. Events and activities run all day Saturday starting with the Poker Run at 11 a.m., live music 5 p.m.-12 a.m., food vendors, bike show and more. 2026 marks the 12th annual event.
