This year’s parade theme, “The Magic of Teamwork,” came to life on a float that highlights the people, history and enduring spirit of South Dakota — from the crews who carved Mount Rushmore National Memorial to the caretakers of our vast lands, the keepers of our Indigenous cultures, and the farmers and ranchers who sustain our communities.

What's On the Float
Take a visual tour of the great places and great faces showcased in this year's Rose Parade.
The centerpiece of the float, Mount Rushmore National Memorial is framed by the towering ponderosa pines of the Black Hills. This iconic landmark was created through the determination, vision and skill of hundreds of workers.
In the center, a pair of bison moves across the prairie — an indelible symbol of the Old West that lives on at places like Custer State Park.
A cascading waterfall featuring real water — similar to beautiful Falls Park in Sioux Falls — flows through the middle of the float, symbolizing the state’s natural beauty and abundance.
Golden wheat and waving fields of safflower and corn honor South Dakota's thriving agricultural heritage...
...and bright sunflowers pay tribute to South Dakota's status as one of the world's top sunflower producers.
South Dakota is widely recognized as the Pheasant Hunting Capital of the World, hence the appearance of the ring-necked pheasant, our official state bird.
The staggering Dignity: Of Earth & Sky statue stands as a tribute to Native women and traditions.
Spot the jackalope? These mysterious creatures may or may not roam our prairies, but you can see two larger-than-life ones at the world-famous Wall Drug Store and Dahl's Chainsaw Art.
A cowboy on horseback rounds out the float, representing the Old West culture and pioneering spirit that remain central to South Dakota’s story.
South Dakota's "Carved in Stone: A Legacy of Teamwork" float celebrated how teamwork — past and present — has shaped both South Dakota and the nation. More than 40,000 floral elements, decorating everything from corn and sunflowers to the bisons' coats, showcased the artistry and collaboration behind the design.
