Vermillion is located in the southeastern corner of South Dakota near the intersection of Interstate 29 and South Dakota Highway 50. It lies atop a bluff along the last natural stretch of the beautiful and pristine Missouri River. Founded in 1859, Vermillion is a community known throughout the region for its friendliness, its historical significance, its beautiful setting, its area attractions and its educational resources. 605 Rooster Hive offers premier Lyman County pheasant hunting in central South Dakota and more than 25 years of guiding experience. We enjoy welcoming guests to hunt on our ranch and sharing the ranch with hunters from around the country. A hunt with 605 Rooster Hive includes a fully-guided, day hunt (hunting 10 a.m.-sundown); lunch; and bird processing. Hunters are welcome to bring their dogs. (Lodging is not included.)

When South Dakota achieved statehood in 1889, Pierre, situated at nearly the geographic center of the state became its capital. We are a small, Midwestern city of about 14,000 that is the seat of Hughes County as well as the state capital. Ours is a friendly community whose tree-lined streets, historic downtown and lush green parks give way to rolling hills and steep Missouri River bluffs. With numerous parks and endless outdoor recreation opportunities, Pierre is your adventure on the river.

The Visitor Information Center (VIC) at Falls Park features a gift shop with all of the Sioux Falls memorabilia that you are looking for. The VIC also has a five-story (50-foot) viewing tower that offers a breathtaking, panoramic view of the park and city. You can stop inside to pick up maps and any travel brochures for local attractions that you may need.
