Written by: Tammy Bashore

South Dakota’s natural beauty, diverse landscapes and various outdoor activities pair well with a glamping experience.

Glamping — or glamorous camping — has risen in popularity due to its ability to accommodate those who love the romance of camping, but not the primitive amenities. Glamping options vary but typically feature more luxurious accommodations than traditional camping, such as comfortable beds, electricity, and even private bathrooms.

Glamping outfitters operate near popular attractions like Mount Rushmore, Custer State Park, or just off the interstate in southeast South Dakota. Glamping offers a one-of-a-kind and comfortable way to experience South Dakota’s natural beauty.

Suite and Deluxe tents include private bathrooms, while Stargazer and Safari tents have bathroom access at the shared bathhouse.
