Bicycle Rentals in South Dakota

We are the only bike shop located on the Mickelson Trail. Our store in Hill City offers bicycle rentals and sales, along with shuttles, repair and accessories. We are your best resource for bicycling in the Black Hills of South Dakota. Our personal package deals can include individual service, bike rentals and shuttling as well as lodging at "the Barn." The premier trail within the South Dakota State Park system, this 109-mile jewel stretches the length of the Black Hills. It follows an abandoned railroad bed, and climbs gently into jagged cliffs and pine forests. The Mickelson Trail has a crushed limestone surface and wide path. It tops out at 6,100 feet but rarely exceeds a 4-percent grade (making it perfect for leisure riders). Trestle bridges and railroad tunnels add to the charm of the trail. Located on the west side of Riverside Park (intersection of Walnut Street and Riverside Drive), this trail (.6 miles each level) is the historic double-decker Meridian Bridge. It was originally dedicated on October 11, 1924, as a toll bridge on the upper deck. The bridge spans the Missouri National Recreational River, which is a national park. Visitors can walk, run, or ride bikes on both levels of the bridge and enjoy a wonderful vantage point to look upon the river's wild and scenic waters.

With approximately 10 miles of paved trails inside the city limits and connecting to 20+ miles of trails outside the city, the Auld-Brokaw Trail provides opportunities for vigorous exercise, family walks, bike riding, leisurely strolls, and it meets a transportation need of getting from one place to another around Yankton without using a motorized vehicle. The majority of the trail is along the Marne Creek. The trail also connects a few of the 14 parks found in Yankton.
