Located in the city of Wall, just north of Badlands National Park, Wall Drug offers free attractions, entertainment, food, 5-cent coffee, shopping, the Big Back Yard, a unique mining experience, a Traveler's Chapel, and free ice water, of course. Warrior's Work & Ben West Gallery in Hill City is the creation of South Dakotans Randy Berger and his wife Janna Emmel. Our gallery began as Warrior's Work, dedicated to Native American art, and then expanded to Ben West Gallery to include other contemporary artists. We are proud to know all of our artists personally. They are people we respect and enthusiastically represent. Among the many beautiful pieces of flat art showcased in the gallery, there are also sculptures in bronze, stone, glass and wood. We also offer our own distinct style of men's and women's wear. Our 'gallery wardrobe' consists of high quality leather hats and jackets. We also feature hand-painted watches and bracelets. Our hours are 10 a.m.-5 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday.
The Washington Pavilion is the region’s home for the arts, entertainment and science. Located in a beautifully-renovated historic building in downtown Sioux Falls, the former Washington High School, it is one of only a few facilities in the world to bring together under one roof the performing arts, visual arts, interactive science and educational opportunities. Having our start as a food truck, Watecha Bowl now brings Lakota food to a permanent Sioux Falls location. We offer traditional Lakota food and recipes with a flair of carnival-style cooking and fast food promptness with care and culinary skills. Our menu features Indian tacos with beef, buffalo and vegan options; beef and buffalo burgers and chislic; and wojapi and frybread. The Watertown Family Aquatic Center is a three pool complex that provides fun for people of all ages. It includes a bath house with locker rooms, family change rooms and concession area. The main pool has zero-depth entry, a lap area, floatables, basketball goal, ¾ meter diving board, drop slide, water walk, frog slide, in-water playground, and four additional interactive play features. There is also a 550-foot lazy river, special area for small children, a sand play area and three slides. The waterpark is located across 3rd Street from Thunder Road. Waubay National Wildlife Refuge, located in northeastern South Dakota north of Waubay, is in the Prairie Pothole Region, a key region in North America for waterfowl conservation. The Refuge was established in 1935 as a refuge and breeding ground for migratory birds and other wildlife. Today, the National Wildlife Refuge System has more than 565 Refuges and is in all 50 states. The Refuge System is the largest system of lands in the world dedicated to preserving fish, wildlife, and their habitats, and it is administered by the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service. Opportunities for the public to enjoy the Waubay National Wildlife Refuge occur throughout the year, but it's important to remember that the needs of wildlife come first. The Refuge is open during daylight hours every day. The visitor center is open 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, except Federal holidays.
