Historic Homestake Opera House
In 1914, this 24,000-square-foot building was built by the Homestake Gold Mine for their workers and families. It was given to the City of Lead in 1972. Unfortunately, the theater was nearly destroyed by fire in 1984. Restoration work continues alongside performing arts events. Concerts, movies, theatre, dance and weddings are hosted year-round. Tours are available Tuesday-Saturday (12 p.m. and 2 p.m.) and run 30-45 minutes. Call or join us at the front courtyard theater entrance at tour time.Historic Log Cabin Motel
Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, the cabins were built in the late 1920s. With a variety of floor plans, the Historic Log Cabins include 1-4 beds and some have kitchenettes. All cabins include a bath and/or shower, towels/linens/bedding, free Wi-Fi, continental breakfast (May 1-September 15), cable TV, and air conditioning.
