Catch a ride on the City View Trolley and enjoy a narrated tour of Rapid City and many of the unique point-of-interests found throughout town. The trolleys - modeled after turn of the century cable cars - operate during the summer months, mid-May through early October (10 a.m.-12 p.m. and 1:30-3:30 p.m., daily). Passengers enjoy informative tours filled with recent and historical information about Rapid City and the surrounding area. President Franklin Delano Roosevelt established the Civilian Conservation Corps (CCC) in 1933. From 1933-1942, the CCC was a public work relief program for unemployed, unmarried men. The goal was conservation of our natural resources and the salvage of our young men. More than 27,000 men contributed to many significant projects in South Dakota and helped to support their families back home.
