Wednesday evenings rom June through October, the parking lot is home to the Canton Famers Market. Located west of Platte in south central South Dakota, Buryanek Recreation Area is popular with boaters and anglers, as well those looking for scenic beauty along the Missouri River. History buffs will enjoy knowing that the Lewis and Clark expedition traveled through the area, where they were told to watch for "burning bluffs" along the river. The park is open year-round, with some services closed October 1-April 30. There are electrical and non-electrical campsites - 44 total - as well as three camping cabins. The Buryanek Bay Bunkhouse, with its year-round lodging and large, accommodating meeting/recreation room, lies near the western edge of the Missouri River about a mile north of the Platte/Winner bridge. The lodge has six individual units. The four large units sleep 7-10 people and the two small units sleep 5-6 people. Our spacious Roundup Room, which can seat up to 100 people, makes this facility great for special events such as family reunions, Christmas parties, receptions and private meetings. We are located a few miles west of Buryanek State Recreation Area and easy access to great fishing and boating. Located in Yankton's historical riverfront district, the 1886 Cramer-Kenyon Heritage Home has the architectural design of Eastlake Stick Style with an elegant Queen Anne interior. The home is open to the public for guided tours from Memorial Day (late May) through Labor Day (early September), Wednesday through Sunday, 1-4 p.m. During the off season, tours may be scheduled by reservation. Step thru the doors of the Ruby House restaurant in Keystone and we will take you back to the days of the Old West in our elegant turn-of-the-century dining room. Red velvet draperies and wall hangings blend with period pictures and prints beautifully displayed in antique frames. We have antique handguns and rifles as well as carnival glass and china so there is something of interest for everyone. The Ruby House is located on the Keystone strip, two miles from Mount Rushmore National Memorial. We are open from April through October and offer a full lunch and dinner menu 7 days a week.
