The Akta Lakota Museum, located on the campus of St. Joseph's Indian School in Chamberlain, is more than a traditional museum; it is an experience that provides visitors with a living lesson on the Native American way of life, both past and present. Visitors benefit from a mini-theater, interactive displays, English-Lakota descriptions, an outdoor Medicine Wheel Garden and a gift shop featuring a unique selection of Native American-made products. The Alliance
The South Dakota Military Heritage Alliance, located in Sioux Falls, is organized exclusively for charitable and education purposes. Our purpose is to provide support services, encouragement, camaraderie, entertainment and esprit de corps for military veterans, active duty servicemembers, actively-serving Reserve Component servicemembers, their families and all who support them, to preserve South Dakota and American military heritage, and to provide historic and current military educational opportunities to civilians of all ages. The Alliance facilities include a museum, coffee club, The Hangar Gift Shoppe, The Patriot Grill (see hours online), Club Lobo (see hours online) and a gun range & armory (see hours online).
