Welcome to TurtleTown and the wonderful world of chocolate. What began as a seasonal old-fashioned fudge store in Keystone has since been expanded to include fine handmade chocolates, delicious confections, ice cream, a European coffee bar, lovely gift items and our Hill City store. We offer the finest homemade fudge, hand made confections, and fine chocolates. With two locations in the beautiful Black Hills of South Dakota, we have served chocolate lovers from around the world. Our hours are 10 a.m.-4 p.m., seven days per week.
The Twist Cone in Aberdeen is a community favorite ice cream store. Our motto is "A Little Taste of the Good Life." And our mission is "Where Customer Service is a Priority." We rely on our employees to carry out our mission and they do an outstanding job. Our specialty is our ice cream, Italian Ice and frozen yogurt, but we also offer a great selection of sandwiches, side dishes, drinks and popcorn. Two Cows Creamery is located in the southern Black Hills in the town of Hot Springs. We source our milk and cream directly from Stensland Family Farms, where our proprietary formula is followed to make our super premium Two Cows base ice cream mix. The ingredients are simple – cream, milk, organic sugar and a natural food stabilizer. When making our flavors, we do not use artificial flavors or colors; everything you eat is wholesome real food. We offer handcrafted ice cream, gelato and sorbet, as well as soups, sandwiches, burgers, pot pie, quiche and salads. Located in Tyndall, a community about 30 miles northwest of Yankton in southeastern South Dakota, is the Tyndall Bakery. This classic, small town bakery has been in business for more than 80 years. They are known for their baked-fresh-daily rolls, pastries, buns, bread, kuchen, cookies, holiday candies and more. Hours are 6:30 a.m.-2 p.m., Tuesday through Friday, and 6:30 a.m.-12 p.m., Saturday.

The Charles Murtha House is a two-story, triple-walled brick house completed in 1892 for Charles Murtha, a pioneer of Union County and an early City Officer for the City of Elk Point. In 2013 the house and property was purchased by the Union County Historical Society. It houses a vast collection of historical acquisitions from throughout Union County and southeastern South Dakota. Museum hours are 1-4 p.m., Wednesday-Sunday (closed Monday and Tuesday). Appointments can be scheduled by phone.
Located in the southeastern part of the state, south of Sioux Falls and near Beresford, this hidden treasure has a lush growth of native woods. Horseback riders, hikers, bikers and cross-country skiers enjoy several miles of trail through the forest along Brule Creek. The trees and plants attract a variety of birds sure to keep botanists and birdwatchers entertained for hours. Campers enjoy the quiet well-shaded campsites, and the horse camp is the perfect base for a weekend of riding.
Public art thrives in the alleyways of downtown Brookings. The Urban Canvas consists of seven murals, five of which were created by artist, Robbie Jelsma. The sixth was a collaboration with SDSU art students and artist Molly Wicks. The seventh was created in the fall of 2019 by Pandr Design Company from San Diego, incorporating local elements. The mural is part of the South Dakota Department of Tourism’s “State of Create” campaign. These seven colorful outdoor canvases make great backdrops for a family photo or styled photo shoot.
