The Black Steer is a long-standing steakhouse in Yankton. It is a nice restaurant that serves a mean steak. The Black Steer's hours are 5-10 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday.
Anglers enjoy the West Pollock Recreation Area as a prime location to stay when fishing for walleyes and an abundance of other Lake Oahe fish, including smallmouth bass, white bass, northern pike and perch. The boat ramp provides easy access to the water. In the fall, pheasant, grouse and waterfowl hunters come to camp. There are 29 campsites at the campground, as well as a boat ramp and a fish cleaning station.

A popular campsite for the Arikara and Mandan people in the past, West Whitlock now draws modern-day campers and fishermen to its shores. When the area became a park, it was named for Mrs. J.F. Whitlock, whose pioneering family once owned the land. Whitlock Crossing was the name given to a small settlement that operated a ferry across the river near the area.

The book store was started in 1973 as The Bookshelf and has been a family-owned business. In 2000, it was renamed Whatnots, Books and Etc. Whistler Gulch Campground is located in Historic Deadwood. This full-service campground is located just minutes from Main Street and the Deadwood Trolley picks up at the lodge front door. There are spaces for campers of all sizes. Tent sites are secluded and set into the hillside for shade. Camping cabins are also available and so is a six-person condo. Amenities include a heated outdoor pool, shower house, grills, laundry, picnic tables, and a convenience store. It is a pet-friendly property.
The White River Drive-In is a burger restaurant in White River that serves much more than burgers. Steak, chicken or shrimp dinners are on the menu, as well as chicken and fish sandwiches, hot dogs, Indian Tacos, tasty sides, and ice cream desserts. We are open seven days per week and our hours are 11 a.m.-8 p.m., Monday through Sunday.
