Built by English settler Henry Holland in 1884, the Milbank Grist Mill was completely reconstructed in 2009. This piece of history stands 44 feet high and is fitted with four sails, seven feet wide and 30 feet long. Tours and live demonstrations are available several times a year. A small museum with restrooms is available.

The Mill Iron Coffee House in Whitewood gained its name from the Mill Iron Ranch four miles down the road. The Mill Iron Ranch was part of the Continental Cattle Company, which owned 35,000-40,000 cattle in the late 1880’s. Today, it is a coffee house serving historic handmade Pasties, a variety of coffee drinks and sweet treats, and featuring a drive-up window as well as a meeting room. We are open 6:30 a.m.-12 p.m. on Monday; 6:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m., Tuesday through Friday; and 8 a.m.-2 p.m. on Saturday.
The Miller Creek Pub & Patio offers a unique dining experience for those who love food, golf, and natural beauty. The Pub is adjacent to the Elkhorn Ridge Golf Clubhouse on the historic Frawley Ranch in Spearfish in the beautiful Black Hills of South Dakota. Elkhorn Ridge Resort is also nearby. We offer a variety of express items for our guests who are headed out on Elkhorn's championship golf course. The Pub also welcomes the public for a cozy and casual sit-down dining experience. Located on the South Dakota State University campus in Brookings, the Miller Wellness Center is one of just a few facilities in the nation with a gym, health clinic, counseling services and pharmacy all under one roof. Open to students and dues-paying community members, visitors can choose from various machines and free weights for exercise. There is also a functional fitness space, three courts for basketball, and three multi-activity courts. The campus community can use the outdoor program space, which has equipment available for rent. Biking, fishing and rock-climbing equipment is available for checkout. Paddle boards, kayaks, canoes, tents, sleeping bags, sleds, skis, hammocks, yard games and more are also available. Mina Lake Recreation Area provides many recreational opportunities including fishing, boating, camping, hiking, picnicking, and hunting. We offer 37 electric sites, one camping cabin and a rental lodge. Our day use area includes a beach, picnic shelter, playground, horseshoe pit, volleyball court and a hiking/biking trail. The boat ramp and handicap-accessible fishing piers are located near the day use area, providing a chance to catch crappie, walleye, northern pike, bass and bullheads.
