At the Wilder Welcome Center in downtown De Smet we want to help you make the most of your time and answer any questions you may have about De Smet and the surrounding area. We offer a bus tour that presents the history of the Laura, De Smet, and the area. Our gift shop features unique art and gifts made by local artisans and Laura-lovers. Even if you have all the information you need, aren't interested in the bus tour, and don't need to buy another souvenir, our restrooms and Wi-Fi are always available if you need them. The Wilder Welcome Center is open seven days a week in the summer and our hours are 9 a.m.-6 p.m. In September, we offer the bus tour daily at 1 p.m. (no tour on September 21, 28, 29, and 30). It lasts approximately 90 minutes to two hours. We offer private tours by appointment. For groups of seven or more, these tours can be customized and generally take about three hours.Wileys
