The Purple Pie Place in Custer is a fixture for the summer and fall, offering the best homemade pies in the Black Hills. They serve hundreds of slices of pie a week. The homemade delights are also available in a take-home whole-pie version. It's not just pies that they serve, they also have fresh sandwiches, paninis, salads, soups, ice cream and a kids menu. Bokujō Ramen is a ramen shop in downtown Rapid City celebrating the flavors of the Black Hills. Owners Brooke and Justin are partners in life and in ramen, too. They met in a Japanese restaurant and Japanese food has been a fundamental theme of their partnership ever since. Having traveled quite a bit in Japan and, at one time, averaged 2.5 bowls of ramen consumed per day, they’ve learned that there are as many variations of ramen as people who prepare it. They're excited to show their take on one of their favorite foods. It is Bokujō Ramen's pleasure to source ingredients as locally as possible, from purveyors who support and enrich the community. The proprietors, Grant and Sandra, were born and raised in South Dakota and reside in the upper level of the home. Located in the walkout lower level, the B&B has three separate bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms and a sitting area. In addition, the common area has a full kitchen, dining and living area with a fireplace and pool table, and includes a covered porch and patio for your outdoor relaxing pleasure. The bedrooms will be rented as single units for two people, including a full breakfast, or rent the entire B&B for family and friends and do your own cooking. Our location is perfect for vacationers wanting to be close to many attractions the Black Hills has to offer.

The Boxcar Sweet Stop is a seasonal business featuring handmade hard ice cream (made in South Dakota), candy, craft sodas and pie shakes, as well as toys and games for sale. All of this can be found at one of the finest locations in the Historic Gurney Seed & Nursery Building one block north of the Missouri River in lower downtown Yankton in the Meridian District. We are only two blocks from the historic Meridian Pedestrian Bridge and offer a great patio area. From late May through early September, our hours are 12-9 p.m., Monday through Saturday, and 12-6 p.m., Sunday. The Bramble Park Zoo in Watertown is the second-largest zoo in South Dakota. On 18 acres, we feature approximately 800 animals representing 130 species from around the world and those native to South Dakota. Also on-site are the Discovery Center, Australian Adventure, Bear Crossing, Terry Redlin Environmental Center, Diversity of Life Complex and an interactive KidZoo. We have daily hours, year-round. Hours of operation are extended Memorial Day through Labor Day.
