SD Art Museum Store

Regional or international, the South Dakota Art Museum Store represents it all. The Store features unique pieces of original works of art from handmade jewelry to colorful pottery and exquisite paintings, and a wide variety of semi-precious stone beads. High quality giclee reproductions, framed and unframed, are available in several sizes along with other Harvey Dunn items. There are books on South Dakota history and culture, and others by South Dakota authors. We are open seven days a week.

SD Artworks Gallery, LLC

The SD Artworks Gallery a cooperative of talented artists and offers the most comprehensive collection of local art in the area. Our gallery is located in the Aberdeen Mall and is open 11 a.m.-6 p.m., Thursday through Saturday, and 12-5 p.m. on Sunday. Our artists offer everything from painting to ceramics, from stained glass to fiber art; all of the highest quality.

SDSU Dairy Bar

Manufactured by students at South Dakota State University, SDSU ice cream is one treat you’ll never forget. More than 60 flavors of rich, homemade ice cream and sherbet are served daily and can also be purchased in half-gallon containers. Witness the cow-to-cone process right before your eyes and taste the incredible flavors our students are coming up with. Come grab a cup of coffee, taste our ice cream and see for yourself that SDSU ice cream is worth the scoop. Located on the SDSU campus, we are open 8 a.m.-5 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Serendipity Farmstead

At Serendipity Farmstead near Hot Springs in the southern Black Hills, we have taken 27 acres of over-grazed grassland and are turning it into a food oasis that is sustainable and replicable. We raise llamas, Tibetan yaks, goats, chickens, turkeys, pigs, sheep and cattle, and have a small orchard and extensive gardens. We have a tropical greenhouse where can grow citrus and tropical fruits year-round. The greenhouse is heated and cooled using thermal energy, has fans and lighting powered by a solar array, and a rainwater collection system. If you want to see how a sustainable homestead farm works, try one of our tours. From May through September, 90-minute Educational Tours are offered Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays at 10 a.m. (from October through April, please call to arrange a tour). During our 55-minute Tag Along Tour, participants follow us as we tend to all of the animals, collect eggs and check crops and the greenhouse. Severance Brewing Company provides those longing to sever ties from the norm - both in life and drink - unique and creative craft beers that are not confined to pre-defined guidelines and the inspiration to follow their passion. The Severance taproom is located at The Cascade at Falls Park, conveniently up the street from the Levitt Shell in downtown Sioux Falls. Shadehill State Recreation Area

Nestled on the shores of Shadehill Reservoir, Shadehill Recreation Area offers opportunities to enjoy land- and water-based activities. The reservoir is one of western South Dakota's few large lakes. The dam, built in 1951 by the Bureau of Reclamation, creates more than 5,000 surface acres of water to enjoy. It is also home to a monument dedicated to legendary fur trapper and frontiersman Hugh Glass, who survived a grizzly bear attack in the area in 1823.

Shady Rest Motel

With knotty-pine interiors, the charming, historic cabins at Custer's Shady Rest Motel create the rustic feeling of a camping adventure while featuring many of the conveniences of home. Each cabin offers a unique floor-plan with an equipped kitchenette, dining area, sleeping quarters, private bathroom, cable TV, Wi-Fi, and air-conditioning/heat. You can experience the delights of fine Indian cuisine at Shahi Palace in Sioux Falls. Shahi Palace offers an extensive menu prepared by award-winning chefs. Our dishes are created using only the freshest and most authentic ingredients. Our wide variety of succulent meats, fresh fish, fresh vegetables and savory naan (bread) are prepared to order in our traditional wood burning tandoor oven. We are open Monday through Sunday. Shakespeare Garden & Anne Hathaway Cottage

Take a stroll in the beautiful Shakespeare Garden and tour the Anne Hathaway Cottage, built to resemble the original Stratford-on-Avon in England. Located 30 miles north of Interstate 90 (Exit 310), it is the only structure with a thatched roof in South Dakota. The garden is open to the public during daylight hours. An appointment is needed to tour the Cottage. "High Tea" at the Cottage can be reserved for groups of up to 16 people. Call ahead to tour the Cottage or reserve it for High Tea.
