Kadoka Buffalo Stampede Rodeo
The annual Kadoka Buffalo Stampede Rodeo is held each year in late June. On Friday and Saturday nights, there is a PRCA/WPRA rodeo featuring bareback riding, calf roping, steer wrestling, ladies breakaway roping, team roping, saddle bronc riding, barrel racing and bull riding. The Buffalo Stampede Ranch Rodeo takes place at 7 p.m. Thursday night. Friday morning, there is steer tripping at 10 a.m.. Saturday morning there is timed event slack at 10 a.m., and, Saturday night, a dance is held downtown under the tent. Event admission is $20 at the gate. There is no admission for kids 12 and under. Join Levitt at the Falls and Augustana University School of Music for an exciting summer camp where young musicians explore the sounds and rhythms of cultures from around the world. Campers will engage in hands-on learning with expert educators, discovering global music through rhythm, voice, dance, and instrument exploration. Daily camp activities held at Augustana University (Fryxell Humanities Center) from 8:30 a.m.-12 p.m., Monday through Friday, with the culminating performance at Levitt at the Falls at 11:45 a.m. on Saturday. The Northern Fort Playhouse is a summer repertory stock company that delights regional audiences with performances in the historic south barracks building of Fort Sisseton Historic State Park, southwest of Lake City. Northern State University students lend their talents to every production. Two shows will be performed during the 2025 season: Vanities a New Musical and You're A Good Man, Charlie Brown. Performance dates are July 11-13, 18-20 and 25-26. All of our Friday evening performances feature a free will donation social hour. There are dinner theatre performances and Sunday luncheon performances. State park entrance license fee is covered by Northern Fort Playhouse.
