DownTown in MadTown is six weeks of sunshine, live music, cold drinks, good food & a family-friendly atmosphere in downtown Madison. Held six Tuesday nights in July and August - 2025 dates: July 15, July 22, August 5, August 12, August 19 and August 26 - each week features different music acts, themes, food vendors and booth. Head to Dupree for a weekend of fun at the annual Dupree Pioneer Days. Held the fourth weekend of June every year, some of the weekend's activities include a bronc match and bull riding on Friday; a flea market, parade, lawnmower fun run, ice cream social and an SDRA rodeo on Saturday; and rodeo slack, an archery contest/ax throwing, a cornhole tournament and a barbeque cook-off on Sunday. Newton Hills State Park near Canton hosts its annual Fall Festival. From 1-5 p.m., there will be a craft fair with multiple craft and food vendors. Additionally, park staff will have make-and-take crafts available for children as well as trebuchets throwing pumpkins. From 7-9 p.m. there will be a self-guided two-mile walk through the deep woods of the park with local bands and performers stationed along the path. The event is free, but a State Park License is required. 2025 marks the 25th anniversary of the festival.
