Czech This Out: Czech Days in Tabor

A Photo Essay

Czechoslovakian immigrants brought many traditions with them to South Dakota, including the love of food and music. The celebration has kept alive the heritage of the early founders of the little South Dakota community who came to Tabor, SD from Czechoslovakia as early as 1869. At the annual Tabor Czech Days, held each June, visitors come for the dining and stay for the dancing (not to mention the parade, entertainment and carnival).
