4th of July Parade
Join us in downtown Watertown on July 4 for the annual community parade. The fun kicks off at 1:45 p.m. with a giant candy toss. At 2 p.m., the parade starts at 4th Street and East Kemp Avenue and continues west to the Watertown Stadium.Aberdeen Arts in the Park
For nearly 50 years, since 1976, exhibitors have lined the pavement within Melgaard Park with their handcrafted wares on the second or third full weekend in June for Aberdeen Arts in the Park. Each year, this juried event attracts exhibitors from more than 12 states. It is estimated that more than 20,000 people go through the park during the two-day event. Arts in the Park features fine and folk art, entertainment and a wide variety of food items. Event hours are 10 a.m.-6 p.m. on Saturday and 10 a.m.-4 p.m. on Sunday. This event marks the anniversary of when the Adams Homestead became a state park. Come out to the Adams Homestead and Nature Preserve near North Sioux City and take a step back in time and enjoy a day at the homestead site filled with activities. There will be a threshing machine demo, corn shelling, candlemaking, tin punching, homestead tours, rope making, musicians, a buffalo chip throwing contest, a Dutch Oven cooking demo, a homemade pie contest, and much, much more! The 2023 Quilt Show sponsored by the Black Hills Quilters Guild will be held June 8-10 at The Monument (formerly the Rushmore Plaza Civic Center) in beautiful downtown Rapid City. We are looking forward to another great show and expect to have 400-500 quilts on display and about 20 vendors with quilt-related products. The show, one of the largest in the Dakotas, is a colorful feast for the eyes. The hours for 2023 are 5-8 p.m. on Thursday (preview), 9 a.m.-5 p.m. on Friday, and 9 a.m.-4 p.m. on Saturday. The Annual Black Hills Roundup Rodeo in Belle Fourche takes place July 1-5, 2025. Join us for four days of PRCA rodeo action, a NorthStar Amusement Carnival, concerts, food and more. The Black Hills Stock Show & Rodeo in Rapid City features events, rodeos and vendors. It is the region's largest trade show, livestock sales and competitions, and was named the top indoor PRCA rodeos in the country in 2023 (as well as 2021, 2020, 2003 and2002). Established
in 1959, the Stock Show takes place in late-January/early-February each year. It features 120 different livestock, horse and rodeo events along with more than 300 vendors. There are competitions for 10 different breeds of cattle, ranch rodeos, 14 different horse events, sheep dog trials, live music, a Western art show and more. Events are held at the Central States Fairgrounds and at The Monument (444 Mt. Rushmore Road North). Tickets may be purchased online and at the gate.
Annual Bruce Honey Days
Bruce Honey Days is a family celebration and 2025 marks our 34th year. Friday activities include entertainment, a bean bag tournament and teen dance. Saturday hosts a parade, car show, music, burger feed, variety show and street dance, along with a co-ed volleyball tournament. Sunday has breakfast at the Legion, outdoor church service, more volleyball and the town vs. country softball game. Pack up your off-road vehicle and enjoy the Annual Custer Off-Road Rally. Head down to Custer with your ATV, UTV or dual sport and take in the hundreds of miles of trails in the southern Black Hills. The Dakota Five-O is a mountain bike race that is not for the weary. With a challenging track, it is a fun event that starts in Spearfish and has different trails for different riders. The Dakota Five-O continues to entice riders from across the country. From the pristine, hand-built singletrack that graces much of the course, to the high spirited after party, riders are impressed with the event. The start/finish is at the Spearfish City Park. 2025 marks the 25th anniversary.Annual Eagle Day
Eagle Day is a celebration of the spectacular spring migration through Sand Lake National Wildlife Refuge. Visitors have the potential to observe thousands of migratory birds as they rest and feed in the wide-open spaces of northeastern South Dakota (27 miles northeast of Aberdeen). You may encounter huge flocks of waterfowl, such as snow geese, mallards, and northern pintails. Spring conditions are typically ideal for spotting Bald Eagles and, if you’re lucky, you’ll be able to spot a nest or two. Bring those binoculars! Activities include presentations, live birds by the FARE group, and more. This free event runs 12-4 p.m.Pagination
