Yankton’s Riverboat Days and Summer Arts Festivalis an extravaganza you should experience. Visitors can expect arts and craft vendors, parades, fireworks, live entertainment, bull riding competitions, kids’ games and arts, crafts, collectibles and car shows. Kick off summer at Yankton Ribfest. Held downtown on historic Third Street, this one-day fest pits the area’s best amateur barbecue cooks against one other. Although you won’t be able to sample the competition ribs, you can hang out and enjoy free outdoor concerts and local food vendors. Calling all riders — the Rock-N-Rumble Motorcycle Rally is the event for you. From live music and local vendors to poker runs and a motorcycle parade across Meridian Bridge, this rally gets bigger and better every year. If you’re in town in the fall, celebrate the season at the Harvest Halloween Festival. Take in ghost stories, go trick-or-treating, try the Halloween- and fall-themed games and catch a spooky flick at the Dakota Theatre.
