LITTLE TOWN ON THE PRAIRIE

For a pioneering experience, it doesn’t get any better than famous author Laura Ingalls Wilder’s “Little Town on the Prairie,” De Smet. Two of the Ingalls’ actual homes are open for tours, hands-on fun can be found at the site of the original Ingalls Homestead, and every summer an outdoor pageant recreates one of Laura’s books in a setting overlooking the homestead.
